What is kkiapay chap chap ?
Chap chap is the quick payment solution for your point of sale, allowing you to accept payments via MTN Momo, Moov Money, Celtiis Cash, and Coris Money. Your customer can pay you via QR code or USSD code :
QR code : the customer scans the QR code with their phone's camera
USSD : the customer types the USSD syntax on their phone's keypad : *616* 41 * Merchant Code * Amount#.
Do I need a terminal or special device ?
You don't need a device or terminal. You receive your payments directly on your phone.
How do I get my QR code ?
Contact our support team on WhatsApp: 01 52 53 17 17 or by phone: 01 61 15 15 61, and a kkiapay agent will come to your premises to give you your kkiapay chap chap kit.
What if I already have a kkiapay terminal ?
You can continue to use your kkiapay payment terminal to take payments from your customers at the point of sale. The QR code can be used in parallel.
What if I already have a kkiapay integration account ?
You can continue to use your kkiapay integration account to take payments from your customers remotely. The QR code can be used in parallel.
What if I already have the kkiapay mobile app ?
You can continue to use your kkiapay mobile app account to collect payments from your customers. The QR code can be used in parallel.
Do my customers need to register ?
Your customers do not need to register or create a kkiapay account. They just need a smartphone connected to the internet to scan the QR code or a basic phone to pay via USSD.
What if my customers don't have internet access ?
They can pay via USSD using the following syntax : *616* 41 * Merchant Code * Amount#.
What documents do I need to provide to open an account ?
To open a kkiapay QR code account, you must provide a valid form of ID.
Can I collect payments by credit card with kkiapay chap chap ?
You cannot accept credit cards with kkiapay chap chap. If you want to accept credit cards at a point of sale, you must use the kkiapay POS terminal : https://kkiapay.me/kkiapay-tpe.
How much does it cost ?
As a merchant, you incur fees on each mobile money transaction :
0 - 1,000 F: 25 F
1,001 - 5,000 F: 25 F
5001 - 50,000 F: 125 F
50,001 - 100,000 F: 5,000 F
100,000 F +: 1% of the amount
You also have a monthly fee of 1,000 F to pay for maintaining your account.
When will I receive the money from my sales ?
The money from your sales is sent to you immediately after each transaction to the mobile money account of your choice.
Can I track my payments ?
You will be notified of each payment on your WhatsApp number. A notification summarizing the day's activities is sent to you once a day. For details of your payments, you will need to log in to our web application https://app.kkiapay.me.
What if my phone is turned off?
The customer can pay without any problems, and you will receive the operator's payment confirmation SMS and kkiapay notifications on WhatsApp when you turn your phone back on. If you have another device (phone or computer) that is turned on, you can track your transactions in the web application https://app.kkiapay.me.
What should I do if a customer makes a payment ?
You should contact our support team via WhatsApp: +229 01 52 53 17 17 or by phone +229 01 61 15 15 61. If possible, send our support team a screenshot of the payment confirmation text message that the customer received.
How can fraud be prevented ?
Transactions are secure and the customer must enter their PIN before authorizing a payment. To prevent fraudulent transactions, do not share your QR code with customers who are not physically at your point of sale. If you suspect fraud, contact our customer support immediately.
Is there a commission charged on each payment ?
Yes, there is a commission charged on each payment.

Can I have the same code several times in the same store ?
Yes, you can print your QR code as many times as you want to display it several times in the same store.
If I want to change the number where I receive my money, how do I do it ?
If you want to change your payment number, simply contact our customer support.
How do I change the number that receives WhatsApp notifications ?
To configure your WhatsApp notifications, you will need to log in to your account on our web application https://app.kkiapay.me, then click on the settings menu, then on the notifications tab.
How do I refund a customer ?
If you need to refund a customer, you will need to do so directly from your mobile money account to which kkiapay has transferred the amount paid by the customer.
Can I share my QR code via WhatsApp with a customer so they can pay me remotely ?
No, you are not supposed to share your QR code with a customer who wants to pay remotely. If you do so, the kkiapay compliance department will suspend your account.
